ISO paper sizes are all based on a single aspect ratio of the square root of 2, or approximately 1:1.41421. There are different series, as well as several extensions. (Wikipedia)

Playing with paper orientation, the logo has an adjustable quality: the negative space (counter) within the two capital As takes the form of a sheet of paper in ISO standards, in landscape or portrait orientation. The number 2 is set in superscript, following the letters in both the extended and minimized versions of the logo.

Laser-cut on stainless metal, a stensiled version of the logo is featured on the device, encased in a pattern deriving from the paper divisions based on the ISO standard.
